iTunes App StoreVery good ★★★★
by SZdz – Version 2.1.1 – Dec 23, 2012I am starting learn all the features, and they are really well done.

There’s a lot to it I’m only now discovery. Sadly I’ve not found a way or the author hasn’t thought of it! To be able to import CSS database. I do love snapping pics with the cam right into the app. So fast that way. Big plus. I’m mobile. Go to a swap and can browse my database instantly”
iTune App StoreNew Version review ★★★★
by Former yard office user – Version 2.1.1 – Dec 13, 2012Let’s see, i think this is going to be my 5th review? Maybe only my 4th. Anyway, i’m proud to say that ModelTrainDb works again! Now, thT being said, all further reviews will be on the version for OS5. I refuse to update to what is sounding like by all accounts the inferioir OS6, so some finctions of MTDBmay be missing. Perhaps the best feature of this app is that the programmer is listening to us. That’s greatly appreciated and makes my experiences better. There are a lot of apps out there, where this isn’t the case. And in that regard, thank you guys for putting the OS5 workaround back in after updating the app to 6. Being honest, the program is still a ways from being able to be called a true database. But they’re working on it. And don’t get me worng, it works great as a list for cataloging equipment, it just needs a little more interfunctionality. I’d still like to see some search functionality to sort long lists of listings like the roadname page, but i noticed when perusing the categorical settings that the pieces to build category-specific subcategories were being put in. The program doesn’t know how to filter them yet when putting in a new entry, and I’d like to see the same for the entire trickle-down, (types by subcategoy, subtypes by type, that kind of filtering is what a database does) but the building blocks are there. And giving credit where due: the way its setup in the settings screen is that the list of subcategories are pooled, and you tell the category line which ones to pull up. (or will when it goes live in the actual iut screen) this will be a very handy feature, as it means i can make multiple typ entires for steam locomotive manufacturers, but only one entry for each wheel arrangement instead of having to make the same wheel arrangements multiple times for each company. Since, for example, alco, baldwin, and lima all made 440s and 260s and 280s and… And… And… And the list goes on. So, all in all, i’m happy again with my purchase. I was upset when it updated and broke itself, and then when the next updates only fixed it for the new OS, but the programmers listened. If you look real hard, you’ll notice there aren’t many dtatbases out there for Istuff. If your sure you want one, please try this one out. Have patience if you don’t like something, and take the time to write the review. They do read these things, and it does matter to them as much as it does to us.
Easy to use and well designed ★★★★★
by TopeADV – Version 2.0.0 – Jun 15, 2012
I like the simplicity of this app. It is intuitive and easy to grasp and not over-engineered like other apps
brylerjunction: “fwiw I would be willing to easily pay $15-$20 for an app like this for android. With the fact that I do 30-40 train shows per year I would love to have something like this especially when I am out buying collections or at auctions as I could easily look up what I have sold and for what price allowing me to adjust buying prices accordingly.”
